One Year of One Thing
Becoming more myself through showing up here weekly.
Hi friends,
A year ago, I sent my first “One Thing” email. Election week 2024 had shown me how much my community was struggling. I felt pulled to share practical ideas and resources as invitations to move toward wholeness and feel more at ease, regardless of external circumstances.
Despite feeling certain, I was nervous. My inner critic had a field day. I’m grateful I quieted that voice, and grateful for each of you who have read along, because through this practice, I have become more myself.
I am bolder now. My writing is warmer, more personal, and more vulnerable than it was a year ago. This practice has brought me joy and has never felt like a burden.
Looking back at 52 posts, I asked: if this were a curriculum, what am I teaching? It lines up so clearly with my coaching approach:
Mindfulness and slowing down: even just for a breath or five minutes of reflection
The whole of the human experience: honoring emotions and the body’s wisdom as guides
Life design: clarifying what energizes you, defining success on your own terms, building towards your unique happiness
Sustainable performance: sustaining your energy through rest, recovery, and staying focused on what matters most
I’m staying open to where this goes. I don’t know what this will look like in another year, but I’m not done yet. For the next 8-10 weeks, I’m experimenting with a focused series on mindful holidays and year-end reflection, drawing on each pillar above.
And this week, I invite you to revisit the first practice I shared, which remains a favorite:
Take good care,
Lisa

I love how you’ve put your desire to help your community into practice, one that encourage us to practice too! Congrats on one beautiful year!
Congratulations on one year of putting yourself out there to help others! It’s certainly not an easy task to do. I personally look forward to each weekly post and use it as a way to pause and focus on the upcoming week. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and wisdom. You are helping many people find their way in this crazy world.
