One Thing: Phone-Free
A tiny experiment in reclaiming your attention.
Hi friends,
I didn’t have my phone for 72 hours this week and it was amazing.
I was surprised at how quickly and easily I was able to let go of it. I didn’t reach for a screen the second I felt bored. I was reminded that most things can wait.
Last week, I wrote about designing your summer. I personally want fewer of my summer moments to disappear into my phone. So, this week is about one tiny way to protect that design. What if it’s as simple as leaving your phone at home?
One Phone-Free Thing
Experiment with one small pocket of unavailability this week. Choose one thing where you leave your phone behind. A few ideas:
Running to the grocery store
Sitting in a waiting room
Taking a short walk after dinner
Driving somewhere familiar
It’s a tiny act of reclaiming your attention. Let it be small, and let it feel a little weird. Maybe that’s where a little more summer can find you.
Take good care,
Lisa
P.S. If you’re ready to reassess more than a few minutes without your phone, this article offers tons of ideas on where to start.
